In the city Puebla, Mexico, thousands of people gathered on March 31st to April 2nd to hear new progressive ideas on freedom, prosperity, education, economics, innovation, health and leadership. The international speaker list presented influential experts who each provided state of the art insights within their field of expertise. Among the speakers were Ben Nelson, founder and CEO of the Minerva Project and Fernando Valenzuela Managing Partner in Global Edtech Impact Alliance.
Rosan Bosch inspired the 2,500 people in the audience with her approach to transforming education with design. With the title 'Designing for Uncertainty', a reference to her new book, Rosan presented innovative ideas for motivating learners to become agile future citizens. To solve the uknown challenges of the future, we are in desperate need of creative and adaptable learners today. As Rosan stressed during her keynote, learners need to be prepared for the unexpected by learning how to learn to their best ability. Design has the power to encourage this autonomy and self-directed learning. Through differentiated and playful learning environments, we can support children and youth to explore their potential, become aware of their own needs and create a flexible mindset that can handle sudden challenges.
