The new 21st century Beaconhouse flagship school
The new TNS Beaconhouse School in Lahore presents an iconic building design with the philosophy of Reggio Emilia and Project-Based Learning methods integrated in the entire space planning. We have developed the architectural concept that focus on growth and creativity, fusing pedagogical approaches that enhance and motivate learners’ creativity and human development.
The Reggio Emilia approach is characterized by a continuous holistic attempt to understand children’s self-directed learning process with a focus on early childhood. The children’s different individualities, inclusion, social relations and the influence of the spatial surroundings are part of these considerations.
The design concept takes inspiration from the regions of Pakistan with their rich nature, variated landscapes and historic cultural heritage. Merging art with the concept of spiral growth, the different learning environments for creative learning has lots of hands-on possibilities. The spiral is a strong symbol of progress, energy and advancement of all living creatures. The spiral of growth relates to infinity and supports the fact that learners at TNS Beaconhouse School in Lahore will train to be lifelong learners, continuing their paths of discovery beyond their graduation.
By integrating a variety of sustainable features into the building design, environmental awareness becomes a part of the children’s learning experience. The differentiated learning environments equip the children for an unknown future with a school building that will stand out as an iconic statement for the school of tomorrow.
The architectural concept was created for Beaconhouse Group - one of the world’s largest school networks of its kind. Beaconhouse aims to provide quality education of an international standard in a world of changing needs.
