Citizens need to have a say in the design of their city’s central venue: the library. For libraries are no longer merely collections of books. They also act as arenas for community and co-creation. We have been in Skien in Norway to meet the range of users for the new Ibsen Library in an open workshop and work with their user needs for the new library.

The planned library will mark the 200th anniversary of the world-famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen when it opens in 2028. Inputs from the workshop will ensure the library is full of relevant Ibsen experiences for all users and visitors.
