We have been appointed by the Danish Arts Foundation's Arts Committee for Design and Crafts to hand-in a proposal, which rethinks the historic building's foyer and entrance area. The committee wishes to attract new visitors with an inviting and lively entrance.
"The design contest allows us to show the crucial difference that design may have in our desire to enter and stay in a room," says Bente Skjøttgaard, chairman of the Danish Arts Foundation's Committee for Crafts and Design.
The artist J.F. Willumsen drew the Free Exhibition Building in 1898. It was protected in 1986, so the contestants must take into account the natural constraints that are when working with a protected building. The winner will be announced on January 31, 2018.
